PART 1 PART 2
Sometimes showing up online means showing up in person (or on the phone/ video chat). F@CK. I know... This news might be devastating to some, and SOOOO out of your comfort zone but it's a great way to network, learn and grow as a person and for your business. We're all about that personal development. If it's something you're totally uncomfortable with, start small. If it's something you know you can rock, jump right in!
1. Offer Free Mini Sessions
If your calendar isn't full of paying clients, you should be offering free mini sessions via in person, video chat or calls. Most people are against free, but it opens up so much more opportunity. It's an amazing way to increase your confidence which in turn develops better skills as a coach or service provider. Don't over do it, give yourself a goal, say about 3 sessions a week. You can better prepare for them. Make sure they are single sessions and not full coaching for a month.
Give MASSIVE value to this person during their free session. These people will be coming back for even MORE and become a fan that will end up loving to refer your services (mostly online!) and possibly convert into paying clients. Don't forget that you are there to SERVE. Don't do a sales pitch at the end of the session. If they ask how to work with you further, the tell them. Make sure you distinguish your free calls from your other services.
2. Attend Live Events or Conferences
Live events and conferences in your field or where your potential clients hang out is the perfect place to be. Don't overlook the power in face to face connections. These relationships can flourish quicker than ones online because they SEE you and can feel your genuine energy. You have to network, meet new people and tell them what you do. Collect business cards and information from people so you can connect and follow up with them online.
3. Local Meetups and Networking Events
Participating in local meetups and networking events can get your name out there so much faster than you can possibly imagine. You build up the trust and know factors so QUICKLY! Don't have any networking or local meetups in your area?? Create them! Don't wait for something to happen.
4. Host a Workshop
Hosting workshops in your area and tell people how they are able to work with you further. It's a great, low cost way to connect with new people. A great idea is to include some form of take away or freebie that attendees can take home with them to remember you by. This way, they can look you up online and connect with you that way! Collect emails and contact info if they're interested in your email updates!
5. Share What You Do
This one seems super simple, but can be overlooked! Stop hiding and shout out what you do! Don't be shy. Tell everyone you know what you do. Post it on your personal page, ask for referrals, and OWN IT. There is NO SHAME in owning what you do and claiming it with authority. Some people may not understand it, but that just opens up connection and conversation! People are more than happy to share especially if what you offer can be useful to someone they really care about.
