WHY SELFIES AREN'T ENOUGH

Posting selfies alone is not going to build your empire. I said what I said. A common mistake among most network marketers who are trying to sell a lifestyle is that they focus solely on posting selfies and don’t provide much else in the way of substance aside from cute song lyrics or an inspirational quote.

I am not saying you need to stop posting selfies - but you need to provide some sort of value with that selfie so that your audience feels compelled to interact, engage, and more importantly BUY. We want to convert lurkers to customers through providing value; you want a caption that starts with a question to draw the reader in, then you want to provide some context of your story and how you are able to solve the problem you are highlighting in that first question.
Network marketing is a fun mix of showing people how to change their lives in a similar way that you have but also selling your products that will solve their problems. Every industry has problems that they are trying to solve so get creative to appeal to your niche.

While selfies are a very easy piece of content you’re really going to want to sit down and this is about a marketing strategy that is going to work with the amount of time you have and what will work best with your audience, here are some fast tips to help you craft a social media strategy for your business:

  1. Choose three social media outlets that you would like to use to reach your audience. You can’t do it all so choose the ones you enjoy using that have been seemingly working to build your audience. Choose platforms that use the type of content you want to create. If you don’t like creating long video content you won’t choose YouTube, but if you love short-video content you’ll likely choose TikTok or Instagram.
  2. Choose your 5 pillars of social media that you would like to center your content around. These are both personal and professional things. My 5 pillars are my dogs, fast & easy makeup looks, baking/cooking, and gratitude as a state of mind. I rotates these pillars from time to time but these are the ones that are my niche that customers connect with.
  3. Have a niche: create an avatar of your ideal customer. There is zero point in posting and praying or trying to appeal to everyone. Know who you are speaking to, know your ideal customer/prospect so that you can know every piece of content you create is FOR THEM.
  4. Consistency trumps perfection in executing this strategy EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Jade has coached plenty of people on social media strategies and the most common failure point is perfection. Your content doesn’t need to be perfect, in fact, authenticity is often ‘messy’ so ALWAYS just post your content. 
  5. Have fun. While this is a business it shouldn’t feel painful to post or create content. It should feel natural and fun. Follow trends if you don’t want to dance on reels DO NOT FEEL YOU NEED TO. Use the trends to get creative.
