HOW TO WORK FULL TIME AND SIDE HUSTLE SUCCESSFULLY

Picture
The most common objections we receive when people reach out about the opportunity are
1. Money and
2. Time

Farmasi makes it very easy to ease the money objection as it is free to join in Canada. Most NWM companies have a reasonable start-up cost; lower than starting a brick and mortar business for sure but time is trickier because time is somewhat subjective. We all have the same amount of hours in a day so I think rather than time being the problem, the actual problem is “prioritization”.
Having spent 8+ years in network marketing it has always been a second, third or fourth stream of income for me. I have always had a traditional 9-5 job alongside a NWM business, boards I’ve sat on, a family, etc. Making money on my own terms has always been my goal and I will never criticize anyone who is passionate about their full-time work. I will not work somewhere that I am not passionate about and 9-5s are no different for me. At this point, I choose to work full-time alongside my NWM business. There are a few reasons but I will switch gears when the time is right. In the meantime, I have to prioritize my business similar to how I prioritize the rest of the things in my life.

Prioritization in its self is a skill that not all people have but, if I can put it in the simplest way possible, you need to know why you want to make this business a priority and you need to really assess the ROI (return on investment) for your time. Time is money, time is precious, whatever expression you want to use, people need to know that the time they put in will pay off for them because it is time that is being taken away from other really important things in their life.

Farmasi pays a 50% base commission, so for me to divide up the time I want to invest into my business and my Income Producing Activities, it’s a solid investment. Knowing I’m helping other people to make those sorts of commissions plus their bonuses makes prioritizing my business very easy. Servant leadership is key here. In network marketing you have to genuinely want to help serve others if you’re going to be a successful leader in this industry and please never feel ashamed to think about money ROIs for your time. You deserve to feel fairly compensated for your time.

Having a successful NWM business while working FT and possibly managing a household is not for the faint of heart but it can certainly pay off if you are willing to do what most aren’t to eventually live the life you dream of.

Here are my top tips for building your empire while juggling a FT time job ( & other things):

  1. Have a set schedule of when you will spend time uninterrupted working on your Income Producing Activities (ggn has a whole 100+ page guide for its members on this ;)). Set a timer, whatever it takes. Talk to your spouse to make sure they can watch the kids if needed. I personally take 2 hours before I start work 7-9 am, and then 1 hour after work. Breaks during my workday are also great for answering messages (voice messages are quicker than typing).
  2. Have a clear and concise picture of where you want this business to take you. If your goal is to quit your 9-5 ensure you are allotting enough time to get yourself there and remind yourself of this goal every time you want to quit, or think that something else is going to take priority of business time. I call this your why, and it needs to be something strong that keeps you on track when those moments of doubt creep in
  3. Set out your tasks so that you know what needs to be done and then do them. I use our income-producing activity guide, but you can write your tasks in a journal or a list. Being able to physically check off or make notes on your list can provide a wicked sense of accomplishment fueling your fire.
  4. Batch your content. The most common complaint I see is people who feel they are on their phone too much and not present with their families. Create a social media strategy and make your content ahead of time. Don’t post every photo the minute you take it. I know this can be tough but the more you save, the more content you’ll have for later on!
  5. Say no to anything that risks jeopardizing your goals. I’m not saying you can’t go hang with your friends but maybe establish a time that still allows for your business time. We want to make sure we have consistency in our business. Skipping days means it will take much longer to hit your goals.
  6. Fill your cup! Make sure that you have fun things set into your schedule. All work and no play make hitting your goals frustrating. Celebrate small milestones, be excited, and make sure you’re doing personal development to help you as you shift your mindset to that of an entrepreneur.

You don’t need to be all work and no play but having a clear vision of your goals, and the steps to get you there will keep you aligned to your path. We can’t wait to see what you achieve with your newfound sense of direction!
